The 14th Mekong Delta Healthcare Tennis Tournament – Imexpharm Cup 2023 was hosted by the Department of Health of Tien Giang Province, featuring the participation of 15 teams of athletes. The event attracted a local audience of over 400 people who came to watch and cheer for the matches.
This annual tennis tournament is a sporting event for healthcare professionals in the Mekong Delta region. Over the past 15 years, it has garnered significant attention and support from healthcare staff within and beyond the region.
The tournament featured the presence of representatives from Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Health, and Imexpharm Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, who presented commemorative flags to the athlete teams.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dinh, Deputy CEO of Imexpharm, presented flowers and gifts to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Vice Chairman of the Tien Giang Provincial People’s Committee, and Dr. Nguyen Huu Diep, Deputy Director of Tien Giang Department of Health.
While the tournament promotes networking and camaraderie, its competitive nature adheres to professional standards. Matches followed the official Tennis Rules issued by the General Department of Physical Education and Sports (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism). Experienced referees, who have officiated national tournaments, ensured fair play. To participate, athletes had to meet the eligibility criteria, including at least one year of service in the healthcare sector.
This year’s competition featured six categories: Men’s doubles for Department of Health leaders and equivalent; Men’s doubles for leaders of affiliated and sub-affiliated units; Men’s doubles (46 years and older); Men’s doubles (45 years and younger); Women’s doubles and Mixed doubles.

Over three days, despite occasional weather challenges, the tournament showcased professionalism and enthusiasm, exceeding expectations. Overall Champion: Hau Giang Department of Health; Runner-up: Can Tho Department of Health; Third Place: Kien Giang Department of Health. Imexpharm’s team triumphed in the men’s doubles (46 years and older) category.

The Mekong Delta Healthcare Tennis Tournament – Imexpharm Cup has become a cherished tradition, leaving lasting impressions on local communities and visiting supporters. Long-time participants, including doctors and healthcare leaders, expressed that each tournament brings new, joyful, and memorable experiences. Many commended Imexpharm for its meticulous organization and dedication.

During the closing ceremony, Vinh Long Department of Health was announced as the host of the 15th Mekong Delta Healthcare Tennis Tournament – Imexpharm Cup in 2024. The city of Vinh Long promises to be the next vibrant destination for another season of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and excellence.
